Teen Wolf Season 4 Spoilers: Lydia to Master Her Banshee Powers, Malia Struggles to Fit in at Beacon Hills High
"Teen Wolf" Season 4 will have the girls becoming more powerful and important in the hit MTV series. Aside from Kira (Arden Cho), Lydia (Holland Roden) will be showing "Girl Power" as she masters her skills as a Banshee while newbie Malia (Shelley Hennig) will prove her worth in the Beacon Hills High society as she struggles to fit in.
Executive producer Jeff Davis revealed in the TV Line interview that Lydia will be a very important character in "Teen Wolf" Season 4 as well as her banshee abilities. "We actually learn a lot about her history, and her family. You'll see her sort of mastering them now as she learns how to trigger them," Davis explained.
However, Jeff Davis teased that Lydia's love life may be put aside a little bit in the new season since the character will be exploring on her supernatural abilities. As for Malia's story in Season 4, the "Teen Wolf" fans can see and find out more on the were-coyote that Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack saved in the previous season.
Actress Shelley Hennig talked about what her character will do in "Teen Wolf" Season 4 including a romantic relationship with Stiles (Dylan O'Brien). In the exclusive Hollywood Life interview, the 27-year-old actress revealed that Malia will now be accepting her human life in "Teen Wolf" Season 4.
"I think a lot of that has to do with the connection that she has with Stiles. Coyotes are very faithful and loyal animals, and she finds her mate. So, she found her partner, and it's Stiles, and luckily he reciprocates; with that, she becomes loyal to the pack, because it's important to Stiles," Hennig teased in the interview.
The actress further teased that the Stiles-Malia relationship in "Teen Wolf" Season 4 will be a really cute and fun one because Stiles will help Malia fitting in the Beacon Hills crowd as a human. Despite Malia's animal instincts and aggressiveness, Shelley Hennig revealed that her character will still get help and protection from Stiles.
In Season 3B, fans can recall that Malia initially wanted to turn back to her were-coyote form. Now, Shelley Hennig revealed that her "Teen Wolf" character has more of a liking for human life in Season 4. "And you'll see her struggle with trying to fit in," the actress stated.
When it comes to fitting in, it looks like Malia will not only struggle on-screen but off-screen as well with the "Teen Wolf" fans since the TV Line interview with Jeff Davis noted how the fans were "hesitant" to accept the character. The series creator shared that he understands the fans completely because Malia entered the show in a big and quick way and just asked the fans to give actress Shelley Hennig and the character, Malia, a chance.
"Teen Wolf" Season 4 premieres Monday night, June 23, at 10 pm ET on MTV with Episode 1 titled "The Dark Moon."
