Wearing purity rings seem to be a fad especially to teenage pop stars nowadays. In fact, many former Disney stars have worn purity rings as a conviction to wait until marriage to have sex. In the past decade, there have been a lot of teenage stars that have openly talked about their commitment to abstinence by wearing a ring.

Purity rings also known as promise rings or chastity rings are worn by tens of thousands of young teenagers who have promised to remain virgins until they get married.

It originated in the United States during the 1990s among Christian groups. The rings are embossed with phrases such as "True Love Waits" and are worn by teenage boys and girls.

This concept has entered the world of pop music which was once dominated by teen rebellion and has confused a lot of senior pop stars.
