The Temper Trap won the much sought-after gong for 'Song of the Year' for the hit 'Sweet Disposition' at the annual Aussie music event held in Sydney.

The band beat stiff competition Empire of The Sun, whose single 'Walking On A Dream' won 'Dance Work Of The Year.'

Empire of The Sun members Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore, and collaborator Jonathan Sloan, were given the award for 'Songwriter Of The Year.'

Iconic rockband AC/DC also grabbed two awards. They won the 'Songwriter Of The Year' and 'Most Played Australian Work Overseas' gongs for their hit track 'Rock N Roll Train.'

Eskimo Joe also had reason to celebrate after their song 'Foreign Land' bagged the awards for 'Rock Work Of The Year' and 'Most Played Australian Work.'
