Teri Hatcher to leave 'Desperate Houswives'?
Susan Mayer may soon leave Wisteria Lane, after reports that actress Teri Hatcher, who plays the part in popular series Desperate Houswives, will quit her role next year.
Hatcher has played Susan Mayer for the last seven season. She received an Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Award for her work on the ABC show.
According to reports, Teri Hatcher told the ABC executive channels that she will be leaving Desperate Housewives after the next season. Felicity Huffman, who won an Emmy for her role as Lynette Scavo, has also indicated her desire to leave the show.
A source told London's Daily Mail, "Teri has given in her notice and is making active preparations to move on."
"She has another production deal in the pipeline and is in the early stages of developing a sitcom that she wants to start work on immediately after she finishes Desperate Housewives."
Executives from ABC said that there is no truth to the rumours. But if it's true, then Huffman's and Hatcher's departure will be a seriously blow to plans to extend the series.
