‘Terminator: Genisys’ First Trailer Takes Viewers Back To The Original Movies [Watch Video]
The first trailer of "Terminator: Genisys" has arrived. The upcoming movie will revisit the plot of the original two movies. The action packed trailer shows how the upcoming movie is set to deviate from the original movies. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]
The trailer shows Jason Clarke as John Connor, the leader of the human resistance forces against the artificial intelligence Skynet. The resistance forces are in a last desperate battle for survival. It is at this juncture that John comes to know about Skynet's plot to assassinate his mother by sending a T-800 into the past.
As fans of the franchise who have seen the original movies may already know, Kyle Reese steps up to volunteer to save Sarah. Viewers got to see the time machine for the first time in "Terminator: Genisys." But the timeline in the past has changed and Kyle ends up being rescued by Sarah instead.
Readers will find that the initial part of the movie follows a similar path as the original movies. Kyle Reese is completely naked when he is sent back in time and is seen in a mall getting something to wear, just as in the original movie. The two robot villains from the original movies also feature in the trailer.
The old T-800 model cyborg from the original movie and the more advanced T-1000 from the 1991 movie can both be seen in the trailer. The two villains will meet a veteran T-800 cyborg waiting for them in the past when they arrive in "Terminator: Genisys."
The T-800 sent by Skynet is immediately confronted by the older T-800 in the movie. The T-1000 however may be a little more difficult to kill. The fighting abilities of the T-1000 are similar to the one seen in the 1991 movie. The robot can turn parts of its body into knives and stabbing weapons to taken on the enemy and just as in the 1991 movie the T-1000 manages to assume the identity of a police officer.
The "Terminator: Genisys" trailer also features some scenes from the war against the machines in the future. Massive battle scenes involving the resistance forces can be seen in the video. Have the producers taken the right decision by revisiting the storyline from the original movies? Please leave your comments below.
