Dawnbreaker from Meridia is a potent weapon against undead creatures in Skyrim. However, it lacks inferior to an enchanted dragonbone sword. If you love the Dawnbreaker, here are three mods which may be able to help change how it looks and to make it more potent at higher levels.

Dawnguard Dawnbreaker

Dawnguard Dawnbreaker by Ekseth allows you to exponentially improve Meridia's daedric weapon by creating your own version. You can increase the base damage to 15 from 12, similar to a dragonbone sword and even set the charges unlimited.

With enough skill levels and perks in Smithing, you can improve the weapon to legendary like any other weapons. Additionally, if you have the high skills level in Enchanting you can add enchantments to further empower the Dawnbreaker.

1. Sun: 20 points of sun damage plus 20 points of sun damage against undead.

2. Fire: 30 points of fire damage.

3. Sun Fire: 20 points of fire and 10 points of sun damage plus 10 points of sun damage against undead.

4. Holy Fire: 20 points of fir and 20 points of sun damage.

Enchantments applied on the Dawnbreaker benefits from in-game perks such as Augmented Flames from Destruction school of magic and vulnerability of vampires against fire.

Compatibility Issues:

The mod author noted that other Dawnbreaker mods may likely work as long as the .esp file goes after them in the load order. Moreover, any changes made by other mods related to the weapon will be overwritten by Dawnguard Dawnbreaker mod.

Two-Handed Version

Meridia's Dawnbreaker is a one-handed weapon which allows the player to use a shield. But if you prefer dealing damage equal to a daedric greatsword, you may use this mod instead. Two-Handed Dawnbreaker by gaijune is available inside the game next to Meridia's Shrine located near Solitude and features the same enchantment of the original.

Alternatively, you may type the following console commands to add the item directly to your inventory.

1. Press the ~ key.

2. Type in "help dawnbreaker 4" (exclude the quotation marks).

3. Note down the "Dawnbreaker Greatsword" line which by default appears as "XX000D62". XX represents two numbers provided by your game.

4. Type in "player.additem XX000D62" to add the item (exclude the quotation marks).

Alternative Dawnbreaker

For more variations of this daedric weapon, try the Alternate Dawnbreaker by COTS. You can forge several versions of the weapon such as a katana variant and two-handed. It also features forging of the unenchanted and enchanted versions.

You need to have the Arcane Smithing perk from the Smithing skill and one scroll of Bane of the Undead spell in order to smith the enchanted version in addition to Daedric Armors skill perk. Once you've made your own, the base damage becomes 25 and overrides the vanilla version of Meridia's Dawnbreaker.
