Texas Rivalry Heats Up As Chandler Parsons Calls Houston 'Dirty'
In between the Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban vs. Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey rift in the 2014 NBA offseason, Rockets stars James Harden and Dwight Howard calling their former teammate a “role player” and with the gigantic Texas rivalry in the backdrop, here comes new Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons calling the former city he played for as “dirty”.
Shots fired from the Dallas camp and the Houston fan base— and perhaps, all their residents (population: 2.19 million in 2013)— have heard the message.

The transcription of the latter part of the interview for those too lazy to watch the video:
Reporter: [What is the] biggest difference between Dallas and Houston?
Parsons: It’s cleaner here.
Reporter: Is it?
Parsons: You know, it’s just a nicer, cleaner city. In downtown Houston, there’s not much to do. It’s just businesses, and it’s just kind of … dirty.
Being in the same conference, Houston and Dallas are scheduled to meet four times in the regular season and surely, that rivalry is taking a new turn with Parsons’ fresh comments. The Rockets and Mavericks already met last Tuesday when Parsons scored 14 points in a 108-111 loss to their rivals but it was a non-bearing game since it’s just the NBA preseason.
For those who want to keep tabs— specifically, Houstonians— on when the Rockets vs. Mavericks games are in the regular season, here’s the head-to-head schedule between the Texas rivals:
Nov. 22 (Saturday): Dallas Mavericks @ Houston Rockets
Jan. 28 (Wednesday): Dallas @ Houston Rockets
Feb. 20 (Friday): Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks
April 2 (Thursday): Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks
The above games do count and thanks to Chandler Parsons and his “dirty” reference to Houston, the Rockets and Mavericks games in the upcoming 2014-2015 just got a bit more interesting.
