Thanksgiving 2013: How The Voice Coach & Host Are Celebrating
It's the time of the year once again when everyone is giving thanks for bountiful harvest and more blessings for the coming years. Thanksgiving Day is not just any holiday in U.S. and Canada, this national holiday has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions that has long been celebrated since 1606.
In the U.S. the secular celebration of Thanksgiving Day can be traced back in 1621 and since then the celebration is getting better and better. Currently celebrated on the fourth Thursday in Nov. by federal legislation in 1941, the annual holiday is the time for American families to get together to be thankful for the year's blessings.
Hollywood is no exception for this holiday; celebrities are finding new ways to bond during the holiday while others host the celebration for friends and family. Let's find out how these Hollywood celebrities are going to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
Blake Shelton
"The Voice" three-time winner coach is planning an elaborate preparation of turkey, and doesn't care how smokey it can get. "So I'm actually going to build a fire, and I don't care if it's two in the morning, I'm going to build a fire in the firebox, get it going, I'm going to stay awake until it turns into coals. I'm going to put a couple of turkeys in the smoker, and then I'm going to go to bed. And wake up probably who knows . . . at noon or something, in time enough to get them out, and I insist on smoking a couple of turkeys on Thanksgiving because it's old school. That's how I want to do it," says the Oklahoma resident.
Carson Daly
"The Voice" host is set to join his mother on this holiday and will be cooking turkeys for their family. This will be the first that Daily will smoked a turkey and he is quite excited about it. "There's Dominos," he joked. "It's only my family, what are they going to do, disown me?" says Daly explaining just in case he will messed up the smoked turkey.
