Before They Were Stars, They Got Started in Horror Flicks [PHOTOS and VIDEOS]
Stars Who Started Their Careers in Horror Films
There are more than a handful of stars who began their careers doing horror films. It may be because the horror genre doesn't draw much Oscar traffic or may it be personal reasons, but they had to start somewhere.
Here we note several of major actors and see where they started. I'm warning you though, there might be some violence in the video clips so if you're an easy queasy maybe you should just read it instead.
1. Tom Hanks
Before his box of chocolates, Tom Hanks started out as Elliot, a psychology student in the 1980s horror film "He Knows You're Alone." A minor role for someone who now carries one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
2. Kevin Bacon
Bacon didn't have a chance to showcase his dance moves in the 1980 film "Friday the 13th." Even in a small role, Bacon does a superb job in his death scene in the film and was probably one of the best kills in "Friday the 13th" history.
3. Johnny Depp
Ahhh Captain Jack, good 'ol Captain Jack. Before he was the buccaneering piratej Johnny Depp made his film debut in 'A Nightmare at Elm Street,' which is arguably one of the best films in the genre TO DATE.
4. Brad Pitt
Pitt plays Dwight Ingalls, the local basketball star in this 1989 'whodunit' horror flick "Cutting Class." This was Pitt's first major role but definitely not his last.
5. Corey Haim & Corey Feldman
They were both on the A-List of stars in the 80's and had to potential to become ridiculously big in the industry. They started out as two scared teenagers in the American comedy horror film "The Lost Boys." These two go like butter and toast and it's hard not to mention Feldman if you talk about Haim and vice versa.
Next time you watch an obscure, low-budget old movie, try to keep a lookout for the big-name actors.
