Amethyst Amelia Kelly or as she is famously known, Iggy Azalea, is an Australian rapper who can easily be credited for a rags-to-riches story behind her. 1. Her Childhood and Her Struggle to Success
Iggy Azalea, the most successful Australian rapper has had a childhood contrary to her pretty face. Iggy's father was an artist and her mom was a housecleaner who lived in a house made of mud bricks. Iggy assisted her mom in cleaning to save up for her dreams. Her new single "Work" from her upcoming album "The New Classic" tells the story of her life.
2. Her Inspiration to Become a Rapper
Quite early in life she figured what she wants to become. At an age of 11 she was inspired by an American rapper, Tupac or 2Pac and soon enough by 14 she had decided to become a rap star.
3. Her Struggle to Pursue Her Dreams
At the age of 16, Iggy absconded from Australia, where she lived in Mullumbimby, New South Wales, to Miami. She bought herself a holiday from where she never returned. "I guess technically I did run away, but it didn't feel like that for me or my familybecause they let me go. In a way it was me rebelling, but in a way it wasn't - my mother never fought the feeling, she just let me go. She's always wanted to see me be successful at the thing I love, which is this, and I think she's really proud of me," she shared in her August interview with Fuse TV.

Her career began with her two viral numbers "Pussy" and "Two Times". She began as recording artist and did her own music videos and mixtapes. Her first full length project was a mixtape "Ignorant Art". She is the first ever non-American female rapper who got a spot in XXL magazine's annual "Top 10 Freshman" cover issue in 2012. Iggy, who came from a small town of 3000 people is now massively popular online and has fans in humungous numbers on Twitter and other social media sites.
5. She Was a Wild Child
Behind the pretty face, there is wild child. The wild child turned rebel who took the charge of her own life and countered success at quite a young age has revealed she carried fake IDs since she was 13. "When I was 13 I got a fake ID. I'd go out, get hammered off my face in nightclubs I thought that made me an adult, meet older guys who thought I was older, and go f*** them. I'd do that all the time. Hitchhiking was something I would do all the time as a kid. When I was 14 I used to go to the red light district called Kings Cross and go to strip clubs. We would hang out there so late that the train would stop working, and then we would walk back into the city on the sides of the road, three or four dunk 14-year-old girls with fake IDs." Iggy told Complex magazine as she features on the cover of its Oct./Nov. issue.

The rapper star, confesses to have truly loved A$AP Rocky and have never repented her feelings. And removing her A$AP would only mean she is embarrassed of her past and by doing so she doesn't want to send out any such messages. She has only crossed the ex-beau tattoo on her pinkie .

She reveals that she has been Twerking since she was living in Atlanta. I've been doing that onstage for two-and-a-half years, "She probably fucking watched my videos online and decided to try it." tells Iggy, in an interview to Papermag.
8. Her Name Iggy Azalea Comes From a Name of a Place and Her Dog's Name
Iggy reveals that Iggy comes from her dogs' name Iggy and Azalea from the street she lived in. She changed her name because she loves her original name and doesn't want it to be tainted or taken away by the industry. I really like my name, Amethyst Kelly, and people say it's such a great name, but because it's such a great name, that's why i've changed it. It's one thing that no one can take from me, that is special, that my mum gave to me when I was born. I don't want people to be able to take it away from me," Iggy told Idol Mag, UK.
Iggy Azalea, one of the most successful Australian rapper is set to debut with her album "A New Classic" which has been pushed to release in Mar. 2014.
Also, the Australian star is flying back home as she tours with songstress, Beyonce in Oct. and Nov. to Australia.
