Taika Waititi’s “Thor: Ragnarok” is sure to hit the big screens this year and there is so much anticipation for the upcoming film. It was previously reported that the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is going to be part of the movie, and it seems he is not going to be an ally of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as reports suggest that he and the Asgardian prince will fight in a battle.

Hemsworth is already undergoing training for his expected fight with Ruffalo in “Thor: Ragnarok.” A video of the actor as he shows off his skills in boxing has found its way online. The clip was posted by the actor himself on his official Instagram account.

The Thor versus Hulk battle is a breath of fresh air for several fans as the two are actually former allies and fellow Avengers. But a new plot for the upcoming film reveals that the movie's main protagonist will need to fight Hulk in order to survive a deadly gladiatorial contest and manage to get back to his land before it’s too late.

Therefore, the fellow allies will be pitted against each another in a gladiator ring. If Thor will win the match, he will gain greater chances to save Asgard against the evil hands of Hela. “He finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela,” the synopsis reads, as quoted by the Hollywood Reporter.

The outlet has also reported that a portion of the movie draws inspiration from the storyline of 2006-07 "Planet Hulk" comic book. In the comics, Hulk was forced to fight as a gladiator. Therefore, it could mean that Hulk does not really want to fight against his former ally. It’s just that their situation requires them to go on a match. Their fight is expected to be one of the highlights of the upcoming film.

As for the film’s cast, fans will be delighted to know that Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Idris Elba (Heimdall) will be back to reprise their roles. The film has cast new actors too, including Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Cate Blanchett (Hela), Karl Urban (Skurge) and Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster).

“Thor: Ragnarok” is slated to hit US theatres on Nov. 3. The film is expected to be released in Australia on Oct. 26.
