Three Reasons Why Brock Lesnar Must Fight The Undertaker At Night Of Champions And Not John Cena [VIDEO]
Wrestling fans are fully aware of how Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman shocked the world by ending the 21 straight victories of Taker at Wrtestlemania 30. Now, the beloved fan favourite is still sidelined after he suffered a concussion and was rushed to the hospital after the match.
All things considered, he must rise from the grave (pun intended) to reclaim what is rightfully his and end the villainous partnership of Lesnar and Heyman. Why, you ask? The following are the top reasons why The Undertaker must come back and demolish Lesnar:
1. It would break the predictability of the script.
We all know Lesnar is being built up as the villain of the new WWE world similar to the heydays of Andre the Giant and we all know where this is leading up to -- the rise of a new face. This is the trajectory of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a young phenom whose father was also a former wrestler. He unexpectedly won Royal Rumble to earn a shot at the world heavyweight championship against Hulk Hogan himself. We all know what followed, he defeats Hogan, goes on to become wrestling's latest household name and even built a movie career for himself.
Now who is this next the Rock? Roman Reigns. Expectedly, the plan is to let Lesnar hold on to the belt until Wrestlemania 31, build up all the fan hate by continuously beating up another fan favourite--John Cena--until the new saviour wins Royal Rumble and pins him in three counts at Wrestlemania 31 next year. Just bring out the Undertaker and let him have his belt back. At this point, the script is all too worn out and overused from Hulk Hogan to The Rock all the way to Cenation.
2. Give The Undertaker his due
Reward the man for his loyalty. After all, he is the only mainstay of the WWE dating back to the WWF and gave life to those uneventful Monday Night Raws. After joining the outfit in 1990, the Undertaker should go riding in the sunset on a positive vibe not on reports that he had to be rushed to a hospital. This could be the perfect opportunity to cement his legacy and bring him to the level of other greats such as Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
3. If He cannot win, at least let him assist Cena get the title back
Well, if WWE is hell bent not to give a rematch to the Undertaker, at least let him spook out Lesnar. Play his music or even give out a surprise appearance. Let the Taker run out to the ring, pull ac hair and smack the bejesus out of Lesnar and in the process, help Cena avenge Summer Slam. Two birds in one stone, eh? Yes. Cena and Undertaker both get their revenge in this scenario and so do their legions of fans.
For now we hope the upcoming Night of Champions will not be played out like a charade as it is almost certain that Cena will win one on one against Lesnar in this one. Triple H is even already repackaging one of his best draw just to make it believable that Cena can one-up the former UFC fighter. That remains to be seen as fans would find it hard to believe he can do it by himself, but with The Undertaker on his side? Well, that is a different script altogether.
