A year ago, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was up and about, baby George Alexander Louis, Prince of Cambridge was still a year away. Here's a little Throwback Thursday featuring the Duchess and her outfits in August of 2012!

So, what was Kate Middleton up to before royal watchers kept tabs on her every maternity dress and baby bump photo? In August of 2012, the Duchess of Cambridge, all of the U.K., and pretty much the whole world were obsessed with the Summer Olympics, also known as London 2012. For the duration of the games Kate Middleton's style was all about jeans, cork wedges, and her favourite navy blazers.

The Duchess of Cambridge style book for London 2012 can be summarised by the outfit she wore when she joined husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry to watch their cousin Zara Philips at team jumping. Kate Middleton wore a striped tank. To complement her summery top, she added a gold-button navy blazer from Canadian label Smythe. This blazer popped up in the Duchess' Olympic and non-Olympic wardrobe quite often. For her jeans, Kate Middleton's J Brand skinnies did the job. Another Olympic favourite - Stuart Weitzman "Corkswoon" wedges served as her footwear.

There were other more colorful clothing items that made a appearances during Kate Middleton's bid to support Team GB. At a swimming final, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a Zara blazer in bold red. She paired it with a fun polka dot top and a pair of skinny jeans.

London 2012's Closing Ceremony called for something dressier than the Duchess of Cambridge's jeans and blazers. Kate Middleton wore a Whistles dress that was also in blue. The lovely frock came in an eye-catching print, with a black waist band and a boat neckline.

Everyone was hopeful, but less than a year from this little Throwback Thursday moment with the Duchess of Cambridge, the royal baby finally arrived!
