Australian singer Tina Arena said that her collaboration with disco legend Donna Summer was one of the highlights of her career. The two singers met in 1999 and Donna Summer, who was so impressed with Tina Arena, asked her to perform with her in New York for a rendition of Summer's hit single with Barbra Streisand "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)." The song was released on Summer's album Live & More Encore, which was also televised on US music channel VH-1.

Summer said during the concert that she had come across Arena through their shared label, Sony. "In my family I found another little sister from Australia who is a wonderful singer and we met and we just hit it off," Summer told the crowd at the concert.

Arena issued a statement expressing her shock at the 63-year-old singer's death in the United States. "I, along with many others, grew up listening to her music and admiring her vocal quality, along with great songwriting skills which were never properly recognized," Arena wrote. "I will always be grateful to Donna for our collaboration on Enough is Enough (No More Tears) in New York some years ago. It remains an artistic highlight for me to this day," the singer further stated.

Summer's family in Florida released a statement saying that the singer died on Thursday morning and they are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy in the music industry. The family did not disclose the cause of death but reports said that Donna Summer had battled cancer.

"Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time," the family statement read. In Hollywood, flowers were placed on Summer's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, across the street from the world-famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
