T.I.’s ex-protégé Iggy Azalea is releasing single from ‘Digital Distortion’ album
Amethyst Amelia Kelly, who is professionally known as Iggy Azalea, is set to release a track from her upcoming second studio album titled “Digital Distortion.” The announcement about the track after her former mentor Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., who is professionally known as T.I., confirmed that their working relationship was over.
The track, which will serve as the lead single of “Digital Distortion” and is set to be released, is titled “Team.” In January 2016, anything Azalea shares will be featured on platforms including YouTube and SoundCloud and will neither be found on iTunes nor be meant for radio airplay, Billboard has learned.
Almost four months after announcing that she had started working on her second studio album, Azalea released a collaboration song with Britney Spears titled “Pretty Girls.” The rapper said in June that she was starting from scratch after scrapping six months of work on her new music.
In October, Azalea announced the title of her upcoming second studio album, which is scheduled to be released in 2016 with a buzz track titled “Zillion.” On the other hand, the lead single “Team” will be released before the release of “Digital Distortion.”
Like Azalea’s debut studio album “The New Classic,” was released on April 21, 2014. “Digital Distortion” will be released under EMI, Def Jam and Virgin. The latter will also be released in CD and digital download formats like the former.
The specific release date of “Digital Distortion” is yet to be announced. It is also still not clear whether or not “Pretty Girls” will be included in the album considering that Azalea and Spears reportedly are not in good terms after their collaboration song failed to top the charts.
Meanwhile, Spears recently collaborated with The Rape Crisis Center to promote the Party Smart campaign’s message, “Arrive Together. Stick Together. Leave Together.” The campaign encourages both locals and tourists to have fun safely, according to News 3LV.
