Tizen OS has been depicted as to be a future enemy of the Google Android OS which teamed up by Samsung and Intel. Coming very soon is the first Tizen-based smartphone powered by Exynos 4412 quad-core processor.

Tizen OS Coming Very Soon

For 12 months, Google and Samsung relationship has been rumoured to be under rough times and likely the reason why the South Korean tech giant is initialising the creation of Tizen OS and smartphones running it.

At the time Galaxy S4 was launched, Samsung confirmed that a Tizen OS based smartphone is going to be released sometime this year having similar power and performance speed with the S4. GT-I8805 confirmed to be running on a Linux-based operating system with 720p screen display and a Cortex A9-based CPU.

Samsung executive Lee Young Hee revealed back in March that the company planned to release the very first high-end smartphone in August or September and will boast the "best specifications." However, the GT-I8805 exposed running a Linux-based OS contradicts expectation of having great specs if it's a Tizen smartphone.

According to a leak, the source of Tizen found out a support for Samsung's Exynos 4412-soc with 1.4 to 1.6 GHz quad-core A9 processor based in ARM Cortex A9 and GPU chipset of ARM Mali 400. Other specifications such as 720p screen display points that the mysterious device is nothing but a mid-range phone.

Launching Date

Aside from the upcoming event in Berlin, Samsung may announce Tizen OS at the company's media event on June 20th at London with expected release date on August or September based on the original plan.

GT-I8805 is the rumoured high-end Tizen smartphone and expected to be released together with the GT-I8800 as a mid-range Tizen device.

Android and Tizen OS Battle in the Future

The common thing about these two mobile OS is the "open-source" factor which made Android OS very successful and outlasting iOS in many terms. Google is preparing for Samsung's decision to separate from Android by using Motorola Mobility and influence of Nexus line of devices.

Samsung's intense influence using Galaxy line and intervention with Android OS through TouchWiz UI may have created a glitch to its relationship with Google. The Android developer hasn't made any comments or reactions against Tizen OS debut.
