Tokyo Named as the Most Sleep-Deprived City, A Look At Celebrities That Suffer From Sleep-Deprivation
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article which showed the most well-rested cities as well as the city which gets the least amount of sleep. The data was recorded with the help of Jawbone's UP which is an electronic wristband that helps track patterns of sleep and movement.
City That Actually Doesn't Sleep
It was seen that the city which got the least sleep is Tokyo, Japan, with an average sleep time of 5 hours and 44 minutes of sleep in comparison to Melbourne in Australia with the highest average of sleep time at six hours and fifty-eight minutes. New York, which is known as the city that never sleeps, clocked an average of six hours and forty seven minutes which is just eleven minutes behind that of Melbourne.
Celebrities With Problems Related To Sleep
George Clooney:-
George Clooney said that without the television, he has trouble going to sleep. He has a tendency to wake up five times a night that leaves him with less sleep than what is required to stay healthy.
Studies have shown that falling asleep with the help of the television disrupts sleep. Philip Gehrman, the clinical director of the Behavioural Sleep Medicine Program at the University of Pennsylvania, said that while one falls asleep while having the TV switched on, even after they are in a slumber, they have a tendency to listen in on subtle changes in the volume.
Rihanna:-
On Twitter, Rihanna has admitted to having problems with sleep. In January 2011, she tweeted "Suddenly all the silence is being drowned by my thoughts! No sleep."
Lady Gaga:-
During an interview with OK! Magazine in 2010, Lady Gaga admitted that she has an overactive mind which doesn't let her sleep, and that she hadn't slept in three days as her passion for singing is very strong. Her love and drive for singing is leaving her sleep deprived. In bed, she tries to pray and breathe but in vain.
Researchers have found that sleep deprivation has severe consequences, including a decrease in reaction time that could prove dangerous especially while driving.
