While Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are enjoying fame and fortune in front of the camera, their daughter Isabella Cruise has chosen a career away from the limelight. The divorced couple’s first child is now reportedly working as a hairdresser in London.

With film superstar parents, Isabella, 21, could have help in forging a career in Hollywood if she wanted to. However, it appears that she has other plans. Instead of stepping in front of the camera, she reportedly opted to join a more humble profession.

The Sun reports Isabella completed a 30-week course at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London for £15,000 [$28,000], and is now working at the London branch of the prestigious salon as a hairdresser. Her new job allows her to work without people making a fuss about who her parents are. Apparently, some of her colleagues don’t even know about her famous background.

“She now has a wider circle of friends and has broadened her horizons,” a source told the paper, adding that Isabella now enjoys hanging out with her fellow stylists in the British capital.

Isabella and Connor, 19, were adopted by Tom and Nicole during their marriage. When the couple divorced in 2001, their children stayed with Tom, and have followed in his Scientology beliefs. According to persistent reports, Isabella and Connor had been estranged from their Australian mother, as connecting with non-Scientologist is greatly discouraged in Scientology.

Nicole had always been reserved in answering questions about her two eldest children, perhaps further fuelling speculations that she did not have a close relationship with them. This was refuted by Isabella herself during an interview with New Idea magazine in 2012.

“I love mum. She’s my mum. She’s great. I see her sometimes and I speak to her,” Isabella said. “We’re a very close family. I love all of our family.”

Nicole has two other children, Sunday Rose (born 2008) and Faith Margaret (born 2010 via surrogacy), with husband Keith Urban. Tom, meanwhile, is now divorced from Katie Holmes, with whom he has daughter Suri (born 2006).
