“Tomb Raider” gets new treatment for 2013 release without Angelina Jolie

The producer for “Tomb Raider” featuring feisty heroine Lara Croft, played by A-list actress Angelina Jolie has just acquired the film rights for another sequel of the adventure film and is reportedly cooking up for a reboot of the film.
Graham King of the GK Films is considering releasing the next action – adventure, Tomb Raider by 2013. Reuters noted however that GK is considering on making the films focused on the origins of Tomb Raider and not one that will continue Lara Croft’s adventures.

The film creators have not announced any members of the cast and production team including writers and directors. But it was reported that actress Angelina Jolie will not be a part of the latest Lara Croft series.
King is also the producer for the first two big-screen adaptations made by Paramount: "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" (2001) and "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" (2003). The previous film series said AFP had raked in a total ticket sales of $432 million worldwide.
