Top 14 Secrets of HTC One Camera: Maximise the "Ultrapixels" and Optical Image Stabilisation Feature
HTC went off to the path of defeating the increase in value of megapixel count on cameras by making the so-called "ultrapixels." HTC One is the first to have an "ultrapixel" camera with optical image stabilisation. Know the secrets behind HTC One's camera technology.
Digital Sharpening
Use the sharpness slider in the "image adjustments" menu to -1 for compromise variant or -2 for completely turning digital sharpening off.
High Dynamic Range On
Turn on the HDR mode for tricky situations which automatically adjust contrast between light and dark areas. Normally, HDR captures generate vivid colour in well-light scenes and areas.
Backlight Scene
If you are shooting against bright light sources such as lamps or sunlight, use the backlight scene mode to balance lighting condition.
Macro Scene
Whenever you are doing a close-up shot, turn on the macro scene mode to have a nicer bokeh effect with sharp objects front and centre with gradual blurring of the background.
Improve Washed-Out Shots
HTC One's camera can take a lot of detail and light per pixel for the resolution which often results in shadowy detail areas, looking brighter than they should. Use the Auto Enhance effect to reduce washed-out images or turn the contrast slider before shooting.
Continuous Shooting
Optical Image Stabilisation and large pixel resolution, the HTC One can shoot moving objects such as pets and babies without so much blurring. But if you want to get a "freeze" moment, use the Continuous Shot then hold the shutter key to fire rapid burst of 8 frames in a second.
Continuous Autofocus when Needed
Capturing videos can cause blurring even for HTC One but the Continuous Autofocus turned on by the "Lock focus in Video" can reduce significant blurring during video recording.
Simultaneous Video and Image Capturing
HTC One can perform both video and image capturing at the same time without destroying the HD recording. Simply tap the "camera" button during video recording to get an instant snapshot.
Do not forget the Effects
The camera app of the HTC One has a wide variety of effects such as fish eye and focus point which can be applied on your captures. You can even increase or decrease the degree or area of effect.
ZOE Exclusive Feature
Zoe is the latest additional feature on the HTC camera family which allow owners to record a three second video clip at full HD that also provides 20 full resolution images in that same space, giving the chance to get the perfect shot.
Slow Motion or Fast HD
Create slow motion videos and fast HD captures using your HTC One. Slow motion video mode can be accessed under the "video capture mode" on the camera app menu and also the same with fast HD capture of 60 frames per second.
Panorama Effect
Use the "Sweet Panorama" to produce a landscape imaging from perfectly stitched photo using the camera.
Retouching
Do not forget that the HTC One camera app can do retouching of any images you have captured. Retouching includes adding effects such as custom or presets and editing shadows by adjusting lighting condition.
Events Management
When you take many photos within a period of time and location, your gallery will automatically organise them into "Event."
- Merge Events: Press and hold an event then tap "merge to" and select another event to combine.
- Split an event: Press and hold an event then tap "split to" and tap the items to move. Now tap "split" and select an existing event or create a new event for the selected photos and videos.
- Show or hide albums: Manually created events or albums can be shown or hidden in the Gallery app. Tap the "menu > show/hide albums > clear the albums you want to hide > hit Save."
