Miley Cyrus VMA performance: This is easily the most talked about controversy of 2013. Miley became a talk of the town when she gave a raunchy performance at the VMA's 2013. She twerked and made sexually explicit gestures with singer Robin Thicke and left the audience agape. Miley's distasteful performance even cost her Vogue cover and generated Twitter rage.
Regarding her performance Miley told MTV, "Me and Robin (Thicke) the whole time said, 'You know, we're about to make history right now. What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're over thinking it. You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."
Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson anti-gay comments to GQ: Phil stirred controversy for giving harsh comments regarding homosexuality. The actor told GQ magazine, "It seems like, to me, a vagina-as a man-would be more desirable than a man's anus."
"Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong,Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."
As an aftermath to his comments, Phil was suspended from the show by A&E.
Justin Bieber caught in a brothel and visits strip club: Justin Bieber remained the center of controversy this year with his slew of visits to strip clubs and for visiting a brothel in Brazil. Bieber was even tracked down by the governor of Australia for painting graffiti on a hotel wall. Justin reportedly slept with Selena look alike in Brazil and he closed the year by announcing that he may be retiring from the music industry soon.
