The Ring (2000)

The original and Japanese version of the film is definitely one of the most successful Asian horror films. Because of its popularity, an American version was made in 2002. The Grudge (2004)

The American remake of the Japanese film "Ju-On: The Grudge" can be one of the best remakes ever done. The film showed how powerful grudge and curse can be. Columbia Pictures hired the original director of "Ju-On: The Grudge". Thus, you can fairly see Japanese elements in the film. The scenes are just horrifying. The Shining (1980)

"The Shining" is also a horror movie that is always part of any Halloween must-see-films list. The story revolved around a family who takes a vacation for the winter in an isolated hotel. However, a spiritual presence forces the head of the family (Jack Nicholson) into violence and end up trying to kill his family. While the psychic young member of the family sees the horrific forebodings from the past and the future.

Paranormal Activity (2009)

"Paranormal Activity" used a documentary-style that gives off the feeling that it happens in real life just like "The Blair Witch Project". Moreover, it will give you the feeling that there is a force that you cannot see but definitely is there. The film had sequels that followed the life of an ordinary couple turned into a family that transcends the message that it can happen to anyone.
