The news of Ellen Page's coming out of the closet sent shock ripples across Hollywood last Friday. The "Juno" star announced in a Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas that she was gay, saying that she was "tired of hiding." Ellen Page's speech garnered much applause and support from the audience in the conference.

She finally disclosed her true sexuality because she was tired of "lying by omission." The star said during her moving speech, "I'm here today because I am gay. And because ... maybe I can make a difference...To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility." The conference held in Las Vegas is said to be sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign.

Many celebrities in Hollywood instantly expressed their support for the 26-year old star. Anna Kendrick, the Canadian actress co-star in the hit movie "Juno" took to twitter her support and pride for the coming out of the star. The "Pitch Perfect" star posted, "Mad mad mad mad mad mad crazy love and praise for @EllenPage today."

Meanwhile, many fans were quick to react about the said announcement of Ellen Page. Could she have just used Alex Skarsgard as her beard? It is said that the two enjoyed a one year steamy relationship while promoting their movie, "The East." They were often seen during hockey games. The Swedish hottie did not think twice to express his adoration for his rumored girlfriend, Ellen Page on various social networking sites.

The hunky actor has not released any statements over the announcement of Ellen Page.
