Katy Perry has had a wonderful year and has made a remarkable comeback with her album "Prism." The 28-year-old is on cloud nine as her hit single "Roar" has been nominated for Song of the Year category for Grammy Awards 2014. The song became Perry's eighth non-consecutive number one song on the United States Billboard Hot 100. It also bagged the number spot in various charts, including Australia so it did not come as a surprise when it was nominated for Song of the Year category. Here are top 5 reasons why "Roar" should be the winner at Grammy Awards.

1. "Roar" has a great backbeat - Katy Perry's "Roar" has a wonderful music and a very catchy beat which just gets to your ears and you want to keep humming to it after listening to it. Check out the song below. It's great beat to dance to and most dance numbers with peppy music have good chances to win an award.

2. "Roar" uplifts your spirits - "Roar" is a song that uplifts your mood and tells you to speak up for yourselves and your rights. The lyrics "I am a tiger, a champion and you are gonna hear me roar.." are symbolic in a way and tells us to stand up for our rights and not to take things for granted. Grammy Academy likes such inspirational numbers (check out Lorde's "Royals" which talks about dreaming about being rich) with a message.

3. "Roar" is a commercial success - "Roar" became Perry's eighth non-consecutive number one song on the United States Billboard Hot 100. It also bagged the number spot in various charts, including Australia Canada, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The song also has achieved top five positions in most international charts and the countries include France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The song also gained significant success of Vevo.

4. The Year 2013 belongs to Katy Perry - The 28-year-old singer has made a comeback from her divorce and depression period when she separated from Russel Brand. She is determined to make a mark of herself and is proving she can win praises even without stripping naked like her contemporaries Miley Cyrus and Rihanna do. The singer is not new to Grammys and has been nominated for a total of eleven times of the Grammy Awards. We just hope this time she actually wins it.

5. Double Nominations - "Roar" has not only been nominated for Song of the Year category but also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance. So Grammy Academy considers it worthy not once but twice. It does increase Katy's chances of bagging the award for 2014.
