The five richest rappers in Forbes' list have a combined earnings of $151 million last year. Rappers Jay-Z, Diddy, Dr. Dre, Akon and Lil Wayne brought in almost half of the the total earnings of the top 20 richest rappers from June 2009 to June 2010. The next 15 richest earned $156 million which meas the total earnings of the Top 20 richest is $307 million last year. With that earning, Jay-Z bought 61.4 wedding rings for his wife Beyonce.

Meanwhile, Forbes' Zack O'Malley Greenburg said the real money isn't from record sales. Eminem is down in at number 14 earning $8 million this year even though his album 'Recovery' sold more than half-million copies in the first week of sales. 'It's pretty shocking to see him so low down on the list,' said Greenburg. 'Compared to his peers, he doesn't really do much outside of music.' Almost all stars on the list had diversified. The top-earning rappers pulled in cash from alcohol sponsorships, clothing lines, nightclub properties and film appearances, in addition to concert tours and record sales.
