What will it be when it comes to the leading OS?

There are two kinds of people in this world, those who cannot wait to change their phone and those who hate changing their phones - basically tech freaks and the freak techs i.e. who freak out at the first sign of new technology. This article will please the tech fans!

(st)Eve's Offering?

The new iPhone 5S seems to be packed with features able to rock any Apple fan's world. A sneak peek into it reveals a 4-inch IGZO display with the same Retina resolution as the iPhone 5, an A6 processor much faster than the current model, superlative quad-core SGX 554MP4 graphics, an awesome 2GB of RAM and an upgraded LTE radio. And if that is not enough, iPhone 5S will include an upgraded 12-megapixel camera - deigned to make trigger happy soul ecstatic. Other features include a dual-LED flash, NFC and a fingerprint scanner called AuthenTec. Reports also suggest that a complete overhaul of the hardware is underway to be able to make room for newer and more advanced components, though there hasn't been a confirmation of the same from Apple.

Expected to be out sometime September-October, it's now a wait-and-watch for Apple fans to see how great it actually is. On another happier note, Apple is also going into production for a low cost iPhone that should cost $300-400. And if that weren't enough, the iPhone 6, apparently added with Liquidmetals and iWatch technology is also slated to be released sometime end of this year.

Hello Moto!

Sometime next month, Motorola fans or perhaps Google fans can say hello to the first smart phone (about time!) by Motorola - dubbed the X Phone or Google X Phone, under their new Google overlords. From what can be understood that this one is less about the hardware and more about sensors. Perhaps best described as the couch potato's phone - it has a host of gimmicky sensors for people who hate pressing buttons - taking it out of the pocket will activate it, a flick of the wrist will activate the camera, hands-free voice controls ala the Strak Trek computer. Technically, the X Phone is expected to be equipped with MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Pro processor dual-core, 1.7 GHz, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Additonally it has a touch screen 720p, a 10 MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera with Jelly Bean Android as the operating system. Analysts don't seem much impressed - let's see how the consumers react.

Optimising Technology? Life's Good!

The LG Optimus G2 will sport a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will feature a Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor, 13 megapixel camera, LTE radio and dual-speakers. The OS is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it has a 2GB RAM. Funnily, the volume rockers and the sleep button are located on the back of the phone beneath the camera! For fans waiting this one, the wait should be over in August! The phone also comes armed with a superior a 13MP camera. It's dimensions make it comfortable to hold and use - 5.46" long and 2.80" wide - it also promises to be a thin phone. LG has recently revealed the thinnest ever display panel for phone - 2.2mm thin with a 2.3mm bezel, its slimmest and narrowest among existing Full HD LCD panels designed for mobile devices.

Shine on Nokia!

Capitalizing on its very successful Lumia series that seem to have sold in the millions, the Nokia Lumia should not be on this list simply because it was launched last week. But its 41MP camera (no we did not add an extra digit here!) is talk-worthy for sure. Tecnically. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is powered by Qualcomm SnapdragonTM S4 processor with dual-core 1.5 GHz, a display size of 4.5" powered by ClearBlack Amoled display with WXGA (1280 x 768), NFC, a 2000mAh battery, 2GB RAM and 32 GB mass memory with free cloud storage of 7GB and Windows Phone 8 software platform. Talking about the camera, it's the only smartphone to offer you a 41 MP camera that works great in Auto mode or with manual control over exposure, shutter speed, ISO, white balance and focus, just like a DSLR-camera. The different framing grids help frame shots and multiple cropping can get any errors corrected. Also the phone an HD video mode that records high-quality stereo sound for video-happy fans...

Bigger, Better, Samsung - the return of the Phablet

The much-touted and schematically leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 3, presumably launching in September might just have the updated Android 4.3 as its release is touted for July. Like the Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 might just be launched in two versions with one featuring Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa processor while the other version will include the quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chip. Other features include A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi. The 13MP camera with Xenon flash will also support 1080; video recording that the screen can play back at the same resolution. The display will be a 5.7" super-Amoled one, though earlier reports suggested a large screen. Also, a hardware camera shutter button missing in the Galaxy Note 2 will be present in the Note 3. While leaks abound, Samsung is known to keep a really tight lid on smartphones and often uses decoy casings to mislead the world - the truth will only emerge a few weeks before launch!
