Last week was full of intrigues and tragic news that rocked the whole world and Hollywood. The news of Paul Walker's tragic death and the passing of an icon, Nelson Mandela, made headlines, as well as the coming out of Olympic athlete Tom Daley.

Here are the Top 5 stories of the week.

Paul Walker

Died at the age of 40, Paul William Walker died in a tragic car accident on November 30 right after he attended a toy drive event for his non-profit organization Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). The "Fast and the Furious" star was with his friend Roger Rodas when the red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT crashed into a light pole in Santa Clarita, California. Walker and Rodas were declared dead after the fiery crash and were identified by Los Angeles County Sheriff days after the accident using their dental records.

Walker passed away due to a combination of "traumatic and thermal injuries" and Rodas died from multiple injuries suffered upon impact. The two bonded over a passion for fast cars and both of them co-owned an auto racing team named after Rodas' custom car shop, Always Evolving.

Nelson Mandela

Known as the first black South African to hold the office, Nelson Mandela died at the age of 95 surrounded by his friends and family in his home in South Africa. Mandela is South Africa's symbol of the struggle against racial oppression. He was imprisoned for 27 years when he led his country out of decades of apartheid.

"As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison," said Mandela after he was freed in 1990.

Tom Daley

After his coming out YouTube video, Tom Daley's life will never be the same as he talks about falling in love with another guy. The 19-year-old Olympic diver was reportedly dating "Milk" screenwriter Dustin Lance Black although the young athlete hasn't confirmed the identity of his new beau.

Tom revealed that coming out was "terrifying" but it is a decision that he needs to take. When asked about his boyfriend's identity, he said: "At the moment, I wouldn't like anything to change. I hope it doesn't get ruined by the media attention, everyone has been so supportive and I hope it continues that way."

Kardashian's Christmas Card

Known as the royal family of reality TV, the Kardashians never fails to get the attention of its fans including those who are not into them and this time when the released their Christmas greetings.

The edgy, high-concept spread is a mystery to all and many fans are scratching their heads in confusion as what the card means. More like a panoramic fashion spread, the Kardashians Christmas holiday card was shot by well-known photographer David La Chapelle.

Grammy Nominations

Last week ended with a bang as the 56th annual Grammy Awards announced their nominees for next year's awards. Jay-Z leads the nominees with nine nominations including one for Rap Album. New comer Lorde scored three nominations, leaving Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus with no nominations at all.

Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar and Pharell scored big in the nominations with seven nominations each. The announcement was made during a concert at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The awards night will be held on Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
