Despite the numerous big budget films made this year, it is still a wonder why most of them have turned out as big flops too. With its turnout, it somehow made 2013 as a tragic year so far for Hollywood films.

Here are some of the biggest movie flops that still captured the headlines due to being several of the most ignored movies this 2013:

According to movie experts, actor Ryan Reynolds should start realizing that starring in comic book adaptations is not working so well for him. In the US, no one knew such a film existed until its own release. This rehash of 'Men in Black' is set to be seen by September 20 in the UK region.

Some said that 'White House Down' turned out as a flop since a seemingly similar movie entitled 'Olympus Has Fallen' came ahead of it during the earlier part of 2013. It was the one that robbed the movie of its supposedly owned impact.

A lesson that can be learned here is that the concept of Jack and the Beanstalk turning into a movie is not that marketable as per some critics. Others say that the movie also lacked sufficient star potential.

Its lead star Armie Hammer said that the movie became a failure because most critics went ahead of the opinions of the audience and even filled them with news regarding the movie's behind the scene troubles. Or maybe the western scenes are not as popular anymore.

Majority of its reviews were deemed as 'poisoned' that not even the secret scientology messages within the movie did not even help. Not to mention the CGI monsters that were made cheap according to film effects experts.

As per the Box Office Mojo stats, there were only six movies that made a profit with an excess of $300 million and they are as follows: 'Monsters University,' 'The Croods,' 'Despicable Me 2,' 'Fast and Furious 6,' 'Man of Steel,' and 'Iron Man 3.'
