To win an Oscar is such great honour for every actor since it requires a great deal of talent and the outstanding ability to be able to emerge as the best in a crowd of talent. Here we feature the top award-winning actors that deserve all the admiration they've received.

Tom Hanks. Hanks is one brilliant actor who took home back-to-back Best Actor Oscars in 1993 and 1994. The first one was for 'Philadelphia' while the other was for 'Forrest Gump.' Both of these awards fall under the Best Actor category.

Sean Penn. No one can deny the brilliance he exudes whenever Penn appears on the big screen. Nominated for four times for the Academy Awards under Best Actor and won the Oscar finally for 'Mystic River' directed by Clint Eastwood in 2003. His second Oscar was for 'Milk,' where he played a gay role.

Elizabeth Taylor. This actress will surely never be forgotten. Taylor is one amazing legend who grabbed two Oscars in the 1960s, for 'Butterfield 8' and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'

Denzel Washington. The actor got his first Oscar for the film 'Glory' in the Best Supporting Actor category while his second Oscar was for 'Training Day,' this time for Best Actor. It was the same year that Halle Berry also won the Oscar for Best Actress.

Hilary Swank. She is amongst the youngest actresses who was able to get two Oscars. One is for 'Boys Don't Cry' where she portrayed a transgender character while the other was for 'Million Dollar Baby' where he was a female boxer who came to a tragic end with her faithful coach by her side.
