The U.S News and World Report listed 35 of the best diets for quick and effective weight loss for the year 2015. The diet list was brought about after consulting a panel of health experts who looked into certain criteria for determining these diets as the top 35. Here are the best diets that have been listed.
Weight Watchers
This diet has been said to be extremely affective for long term weight loss. The diet does not concentrate much on counting calories but rather stresses on maintaining a nutrition filled diet. This sort of diet would include nutritionally dense foods that a proportionate amount of fiber, protein, fat and carbohydrates. According to CBS News, this diet claims that a person who follows it would lose up to two pounds a week. The diet is ranked number one by the experts, with a rating of 3.8 out of 5.
HMR Diet
The HMR diet follows the Weight Watchers Diet in the list. The diet concentrates on substituting meals with healthy fruits. The meals are replaced by “low-calorie shakes, meals, nutrition bars and multigrain hot cereal,” US News reports. The diet has been around for the past 30 years and includes two phases. The first phase includes meal replacement and it aids in weight loss, the second phase includes replacement with other healthy foods plus phone sessions with dieticians who provide coaching.
The Raw Food Diet
This diet shares the third place along with The Jenny Craig Diet and The Biggest Loser Diet. As the name suggests the diet focuses on fruits and vegetables. It recommends a complete removal of cooked, processed, microwaved, irradiated, genetically engineered foods. According to CBS News, this diet reduces the calorie intake of a dieter by half and so it helps greatly in weight loss. Experts have rated this diet a 3.5 out of 5.
Jenny Craig Diet
The Jenny Craig Diet also claims that those who will follow it will reduce two pounds a week. The diet not only recommends healthy foods with balanced nutrition but also allows the follower to give in to temptation. The diet that is given comprises of 1,200 to 2,300 calories a day and requires the dieter to do a few exercises as well. There are also counseling sessions for members to have an adequate emotional boost to continue the diet and lose weight quicker.
