With LeBron James venturing into Hollywood and Magic Johnson celebrating his life and AIDS story after two decades, it is the perfect time to remember the rest of those NBA stars who had their chance in the entertainment limelight.

1. Michael Jordan

Who would not know Space Jam? This is an animated sports movie that featured the great Michael Jordan acting alongside the Looney Tunes cast. He played the role of himself, fictional in the world of the cartoon characters. He helps them win their own animated basketball challenge.

2. Dennis Rodman

It was after his retirement that Rodman concentrated on acting. It was in 1996 when he starred in 'Double Team' along with Jean-Claude Van Damme. After two years he was also seen 'Simon Sez' and in 'Cutaway.'

3. Kareem Abdul-Jabar

Not many knew that Jabar also did a lot of acting stints. He had the chance to act with Bruce Lee for 'The Game of Death' way back in the late 70's and was also in a comedy movie called 'Airplane.'

4. Shaquille O'Neal

Shaq had the chance to make three movies: 'Steel,' 'Blue Chips,' and 'Kazaam.' It was in the last mentioned film that he was easily remembered as he played the role of a genie who grants your usual three wishes.

5. LeBron James

This in demand basketball star of the modern days starred in a comedy by Universal entitled 'Fantasy Basketball Camp.' He is also set to be the lead actor in 'Soul Men' and did a lot of serious acting for his very interesting Nike commercials.

And of course, there is the cameo role of Magic Johnson (see 1:32 in the video) in one of the music videos of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson:
