Music plays a huge role in the movies for it adds a unique element of emotion to the plot and to every scene. With this, we feature artists and musicians who have made a transition of going from the making of records straight to the world of films.

May it be scoring backgrounds or original songs written specifically for a certain movie, here are some of them you should get to know better by now.

Chemical Brothers. This duo from Britain was hired by Joe Wright, the director of the 2011 film 'Hanna.' It is thriller film that stars Eric Bana and also the renowned actress of Cate Blanchett.

Danny Elfman. When you hear this name, be familiar that it is synonymous with music for films. He has done music for Tim Burton classics like 'Beetlejuice' and 'Edward Scissorhands.' He has also been able to compose the theme for 'The Simpsons' and 'Desperate Housewives.' He did the score for 'Alice in Wonderland.'

Karen O. This singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeah made songs for 'Where the Wild Things Are' that was directed by her ex-boyfriend Spike Jonze. She also was nominated for the Grammys for the song 'All Is Love.' For the recent movie, 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' her remake of 'Immigrant Song' originally done by Led Zeppelin was featured.

Trent Reznor. He won the Best Original Score for the movie 'The Social Network,' this Nine Inch Nails lead singer and leader once again teamed up with director David Fincher this time for 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.' He worked on its music while it was shooting in Sweden.

Jonsi. Director Cameron Crowe got thisSigiur Ros singer with impressive high pitch to make songs for the movie 'We Bought A Zoo.'
