The Los Angeles Times wins the coveted Public Service awards in the Journalism category at this year’s Pulitzers, recognized for its exposure of the corruption in Bell city, California.

The LA Times reported that the officials in the city had been taking their exorbitant salaries from the state’s treasury department. The investigation made by the newspaper resulted in arrests and reforms in the city and has served as wake up calls for the government.
