Experts say that performance of the movies at the theaters over the weekend represent what to expect from the films at the movie houses this summer.

Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarabedian predicted that Hollywood will have a 'strong summer that will offset this year’s weak start' adding that the studios will have more chances rebounding to haul in record revenue for the year, said Herald News.

The 20th Century Fox family sequel “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” tops this weekend's movie ticket sales after raking in at estimated $24.4 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Placing next to Wimy Kid is Warner Bros., girl-power action fantasy “Sucker Punch,” which opened at No. 2 with $19 million.
