Tori Spelling thinks Katie Holmes is a plastic robot who can’t sing. The former “Beverly Hills 90210” star has some choice words for the former “Dawson’s Creek” actress, revealing in her memoir “Telling It Like It Is” that Katie not only had bad singing voice, but had bad social skills as well.

The two ex-teen stars became friends over a decade ago when Katie was still doing the teen drama series. But if there’s anything that Tori has learned, it’s that their friendship didn’t get better through the years.

The 40-year-old actress recalled in her new memoir her run-in with Katie just before the latter divorced her A-lister husband Tom Cruise in July 2012.

“’Dawson’s Creek’ Katie was exactly what you’d expect,” Tori wrote in her book, excerpts of which were obtained by RadarOnline.com. “She was wearing jeans and a tank top. Her hair was down. She was shy but engaging, and altogether pretty adorable.”

But fame (and perhaps marriage to Tom?) apparently changed Katie from a shy, girl-next-door type to an “off-key” plastic robot.

Tori was waiting to meet with vocal coach Eric Vetro for her new TV movie “The Mistletones” when she heard “some actress singing horribly off-key” in another room.

“I heard him say goodbye and then the actress walked out of the room. It was Katie Holmes.”

Katie stopped to say hello, and that’s there the awkwardness of the situation began.

“I didn’t know whether we should hug or shake hands. But the signal from her was immediately clear: Don’t even come close. I instantly got nervous. We clearly weren’t going to catch up on the last ten years. And we certainly weren’t going to talk about her husband, Tom Cruise.”

What Tori did to break the ice was to bring up the subject of kids since both are already mothers. She complimented the younger actress on her daughter Suri, adding that she also have her own kids, sons Liam and Finn.

“Oh, do you?” Katie apparently only said.

“Then I was annoyed,” Tori continued. “Come on. Okay, I know you’re busy. But you’re in the public eye. Don’t tell me you don’t follow the tabloids. Don’t tell me you don’t know anything about other celebrities and their kids.”

She then summed up Katie, writing, “She was just plastic. In a perfectly polite way... I know you’re not a robot because you can’t sing for s***.”

After their awkward encounter, the news that she and Tom had split up broke in June 2012.
