Toshiba Vs Acer Vs Asus: Battle of the Best Chromebooks
Google has clearly pushed the Chromebooks into the mainstream with the birth of different versions of by various laptop manufacturers in the industry. Apparently, it is becoming a popular consumers' choice nowadays. With its simplicity, affordability and its ability to perform, the Chromebooks' presence in the market is now being felt.
Some of the more popular versions will be discussed in this article to find out which one is the best in a certain category. There are not that many Chromebook versions in the market today. But the ones that stood out on the list are those from Toshiba, Acer and Asus, which are currently the top Chromebook competitors in terms of price and performance.
The Over-All Best Chromebook
The Toshiba Chromebook 2 tops the list as over-all best among the three manufacturers. It is packed with 2.16 GHz Intel Celeron processor and it has an impressive 1080p screen which could give the MacBook Air a good battle in terms of screen display. The body of the laptop is more or less three fourth of an inch with has a nicely textured outside cover. The externals have one USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port, an HDMI, an SD card reader and an A/C input and a headphone and microphone plug combined.
It is equipped with a keyboard that works well plus its touchpad which actually feels better compared to other Chromebooks out there. A downside on this portable PC is on its case which is not too easy to open. Surprisingly, Toshiba has built in good sounding speakers which provide rather good quality sound coming from a fairly cheap laptop.
According to Tech Aeris, the Toshiba Chromebook 2 is not a gaming laptop and it is not built to support hard core photo and video editing as well. But this version is perfect for web surfing, writing, performing general tasks and can also support basic operations. Not to forget that this can give more viewing pleasures with the laptop's amazing HD screen display. This Chromebook costs AU$449.
The Best Chromebook for Work
The Acer Chromebook 13 is the best laptop that will support a full eight-hour work day of emailing, web-browsing and other office duties with its great battery life. It also comes with a great keyboard that will suit long typing sessions.
Compared to Toshiba's, this one from Acer is not particularly special when opening many tabs. It is basically best for work because it can endure long hours of typing.
The Acer Chromebook 13 costs US$379. The official Australian price and release date still need to be announced.
The Best Budget Chromebook
The 11-inch Asus C200 or the13-inch Asus C300 are priced at US$250. These Asus laptops do not perform as well compared to Toshiba's or Acer's. But with its keyboards which are good enough for typing tasks, its 720p screens which are fine enough for viewing , batteries which are at par with that of Acer's and the two having modern slick designs, consumers will find the laptops' prices very affordable given its specs.
The Asus C200 or the C300 may not be the best Chromebooks there is, but these laptops are decent enough despite its cheap price. Like the Acer Chromebook 13, official Australian price and availability still have to be confirmed, Gizmodo reports.
