In March, Toyota announced the "100 Cars for Good" program. After a nomination period, 500 finalists were select and the public was asked to vote for their favorite nonprofit on the official Toyota Facebook page. Over the course of 100 days, Toyota has given away 100 new cars.

The final set of 25 winners was just announced on Tuesday. This week's winners included groups dedicated to tutoring children at risk of becoming homeless, an organization that provides care and support to individuals with a terminal illness and a food distribution program.

"The final 25 winners of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Program are excellent examples of human compassion put into effective action," said Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. "It has been an honor to be a part of this program, and to highlight the good work done by non-profit organizations, and to help them expand their services. We congratulate all of the 100 Cars for Good winners, and thank them for leading the way in caring for their communities."

As the contest comes to a close, Toyota is continuing to deliver the new vehicles to winning charities. The first auto presentations began in mid-August with a Toyota Sienna minivan delivery to Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown, New Jersey, a Toyota Prius delivery to the Laura Recovery Center for Missing Children in Friendswood, Texas and the presentation of a Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV to Sol Collective in Sacramento, California.

Winning organizations were able to choose from six different Toyota vehicles. In addition to the three models mentioned above, other models available were the Toyota Tacoma, Tundra and Sienna Mobility. Each vehicle is covered by a six-year, 100,000-mile Vehicle Service Agreement, which goes beyond a typical vehicle warranty.

Although Toyota limited its car giveaway to 100 vehicles, the remaining 400 finalists will each receive a $1,000 grant from Toyota.
