Tracing the Career of A-Rod
Alex Rodriguez could either be the guy you just love to love, or love to hate. He's tasted success on and off the field, with multiple records set and broken. He's won a World Series, hit over 600 home runs, stolen 318 bases and took part in14 100-RBI seasons.
A-Rod has also been romantically involved with some of the hottest women in Hollywood, and has a rabid fanbase chanting his name every time he picks up his bat. He also holds the record for the biggest contract ever signed in sports history -- $275 million for 10 years.
However, things have not been too peachy with him lately. He's gone through multiple surgeries, been implicated in a doping scandal, and is not facing trouble with both his team and Major League Baseball. Some people have been waiting for him to call it quits, but others believe that he is due for a resurgence once his suspension ends in 2014. He is now waiting for the result of his appeal.
Whatever happens to A-Rod's suspension appeal, though, he will likely go into the history books as one of the greaterst sluggers of all time.
This slideshow will trace the highs and lows of A-Rod's remarkable, 19-year career, including the records he set.
And yes, we're throwing in a Cameron Diaz sighting in here.
