Transfer News: Former Chelsea Forward Salomon Kalou Completes Bundesliga Switch
Former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has completed a move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin after spencding two seasons with Lille.
The Ivory Coast international left Stamford Bridge in 2012 after the Blues refused to extend his contract.
Nevertheless, the 29-year-old is thrilled with the new development of his playing career.
"After my time in England and France, I'm really excited about playing for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga now," he told the club's official website.
"The club really worked hard trying to get me and I held good talks with the club's management."
"Berlin is a cosmopolitan, multicultural city and everything was right for me, not only from a sporting viewpoint."
Meanwhile, Hertha director of sport Michael Preetz is equally excited with his side's latest acquisition.
"Salamon Kalou is a top striker who has already proven his strength in the Premier League and in the Champions League," said Preetz.
"He has a wealth of international experience and won the Champions League with Chelsea. We're delighted to have him."
