Chelsea's pursuit of Atletico Madrid's striker Diego Costa is already a done deal, according to Goal.com A source close to the situation reported that both clubs agreed to Diego's transfer move to Stamford Bridge just hours after the Spanish football powerhouse eliminated the Blues in their UEFA Champions League semis clash.

"The Spain international striker's switch to Stamford Bridge was tied up less than 24 hours after he helped eliminate the Blues at the Champions League semi-final stage," Goal.com reported last week.

Chelsea pulled off the deal by offering £75 million to Atletico Madrid, with £35 million of which comprising Costa's salary with the reigning Europa League champion and perennial English Premier League contender.

"A deal worth £75 million, including transfer fee and salary, was finalised at a meeting in London less than 24 hours after Costa's penalty inspired Atletico Madrid's 3-1 Champions League win over the Blues on Wednesday," according to Goal.com.

"Chelsea will pay around £35m (£150,000 per week) for the striker, although a significant portion of the transfer fee includes agents' fees."

Despite rumours that Diego Simeone is preventing the transfer to delay until 2015, the Blues are expected to announce the move at the end of the Spanish La Liga season before he joins the Spanish football team for their World Cup campaign.

"As reported by Goal in April, the west Londoners hope to confirm the deal before the end of the season and ahead of Costa departing for the World Cup, where he is expected to be an integral member of the Spain squad trying to defend their 2010 crown," Goal.com reported.

Simeone is apparently aware of this forthcoming move, stressing he will support Costa's decision to join a financially capable ballclub like Chelsea.

"It will depend on him [Costa] and what he thinks is the best for his future," Simeone said. "I will support any decision he makes. It's natural that Chelsea are interested in him.

"We understand that Chelsea have huge financial power and if he wants to live off football for the rest of his life, I will have no problem in him going. Samuel Eto'o is getting older and Diego Costa could do his thing there but, for now, he is ours."
