British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is the new leading lady in the third installment of the 'Transformers'.

Huntington-Whiteley was offered the role after the removal of Megan Fox from the cast last week.

Beautiful actresses who were rumoured to be Fox's replacement were Gemma Arterton, Zoe Saldana, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Emmanuelle Chirqui, and Ashley Greene.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reported on Monday that Australian model Miranda Kerr was being considered for the role. If Kerr was able to grab the role, she would have been the third Aussie to star to appear in the franchise, alongside Rachael Taylor and Isabel lucas.

In the meantime, more details on why Fox left the franchise have surfaced.

Reports say that director Michael Bay came to blows with Fox because of her dropping weight.

Sources say that the actress needed to put on some weight.

Comparing the previous and current leading ladies of the franchise, Huntington-Whiteley, who is dating actor Jason Statham, has no acting credentials as of the time. Meanwhile, Fox had already made several TV appearances and was a part of Lindsay Lohan's Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen before she became part of the 'Transformers.'

Huntington-Whiteley follows the footsteps of Olga Kurylenko and Halle Berry who went to the silver screen straight from the catwalk.
