Cast members and fans gather for the special premiere of the third installment of the Transformers movie franchise in Times Square, New York on June 28.

The much-awaited premiere of this season's biggest blockbuster, Transformers: Dark of the Moon happened in the historical New York Times Square to accomodate hundreds of excited fans on this special occasion. Cast members Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Ken Jeong, and even astronaut Buzz Aldrin who had a special appearance in the movie. Director Michael Bay also graced the event, as well as the movie's producer Steven Spielberg. Huntington-Whiteley impressed the crowed as she arrived in a stunning sexy red strapless gown, ultimately erasing Megan Fox's memory as the "hot leading lady" in the past two Transformers movies.

The cast prepared a special show for the awaiting fans before the premiere, with gigantic models of the movie's famous autobots Bumblebee and Optimus Prime gearing the crowd for more excitement. Will Smith's two children Willow and Jaden Smith, both self-professed Transformers fans, also attended the event.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon premieres today in the United States, on June 30th (tomorrow) in Australia.
