Trendsetting Teen Jaden Smith Makes A Bold Style Statement, Rocks Skirt

American actor and rapper Jaden Smith stepped out on Coachella Eve in Calabasas, California on April 9 wearing a black sweater dress. The 16-year-old son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett layered the dress with a white mesh tank top, making a bold fashion statement. The fashion-forward youth accessorized his ensemble with a pouch pendant necklace, leather backpack and leopard-print tube socks, according to ET Online.

Jaden also rocked a black and white striped dress from TopShop early last week. He went a step further and shared a photograph on Instagram on April 7. “Went To TopShop To Buy Some Girl Clothes, I Mean 'Clothes,'” He captioned the picture. Smith tweeted about the negative effect of wearing a girls dress without pants. “That Moment When Your Wearing A Dress With No Pants And You Swerve Way To Hard. The ultimate struggle,” he wrote.

The junior Smith is known for his affinity for out-of-the-ordinary dressing his gender neutral fashion sense. In a recent interview with Billboard earlier this year, the teen admitted that he tries to be innovative in terms of fashion and do things that people have never seen before and say things that people have never heard before. Jaden has his own clothing and lifestyle brand called MSFTSrep. The clothes range from hoodies and T-shirts to trousers and vests. In May 2013 Smith collaborated with a Korean designer, Choi Bum Suk, to create a pop-up store in which customers can buy clothes with their collaborated logos.

The “Karate Kid” actor is a trendsetter as far as fashion is concerned and likes to be hip. He is not the only one to have sported the skirt dress. The outfit has been worn earlier by celebrities like rapper Kanye West, actor Jared Leto and Diddy. Besides, high-end fashion brands like Givenchy have brought out full ranges of clothes for guys like skirts.
