"Breaking Bad" and Ylvis' "The Fox" inspired costumes have now become passé. This year's hit TV shows and movies are inspiring the change. According to 'Google Shopping' list, those who want to look trendy can opt to dress like characters from 2013's blockbuster animated musical fantasy movie "Frozen." Mothers can dress their little girls as Princess Elsa or Anna. As for boys, they can opt for a costume of another popular "Frozen" character Olaf-the snowman.

2014's "Maleficent" has also become quite popular among adults and kids. Movie's characters such as Princess Aurora and dark and evil Maleficent are also popular choices that can be opted by both adults and kids.

With the release of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie, 80s and 90s comic book characters have become popular once again. Meanwhile, superhero attires continue to top the list. Among superhero costumes, "Avengers" characters are quite a hit. Iron Man and Captain America costumes are well-liked by boys. As for girls, they may opt for the look similar to Black Widow. Furthermore, Groot from "Guardians of the Galaxy" is also liked by kids. "GOT" characters Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow inspired costumes are in vogue too. "OITNB's" Orange jumpsuits are also trending as "easy costume" ideas.

Furthermore, Yahoo has also revealed its "most-searched" Halloween costumes for 2014. According to the Yahoo's list (via The Hollywood Reporter), Ninja Turtle costumes are favourite among the people. Pirate and Star Wars costume continue to be popular too. Search for Poison Ivy and Superhero costumes have also spiked up. Catwoman, Monster High and "Frozen" characters are also among most-searched costumes. As for Minions, Great Gatsby and Katniss Everdeen costumes, they continue to be in fashion. According to the list, some classic movie characters that still inspire Halloween costumes trends are Batman, Red Riding Hood, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Catwoman and more.
