Tribeca Film Festival 2012 Highlights [PHOTOS]
The Tribeca Film Festival remains to be an ideal venue for young filmmakers to show off their work and voice out their messages through various cinematic effects. For 2012, there were 33 fresh directors who got the privilege to be a part of the line-up.
The festival featured a wide array of movie genres with the elements of horror being taking the majority of the finalists. But all in all, it still brought a wide range of stories that are informative and imaginative all at the same time.
One of the numerous creepy films during the festival include 'Jack and Diane.' It carries the shocking approach of Cronenberg which features a tough relationship that turns out to be frightening in the end. Other film titles that fall under this genre also include 'Rubberneck,' 'Replicas,' and 'The Playroom.'
For the romantic genre, there's 'Cheerful Weather for a Wedding' by Donald Rice, which will remind you of the TV hit 'Downtown Abbey.' It has the themes of family issues, forbidden love, and even lifestyle differences.
For some bit of sex comedy, 'Hysteria' is the movie to catch that presents a humorous look at the invention of the sex gadget.
Other movies like 'BabyGirl' and 'Una Noche' capture the Latin and Cuban culture, while 'Free Samples' and 'Fairhaven' fall under the odd yet captivating indie movies.
