‘True Blood’ Episode Upsets US Senator Ted Cruz [VIDEO]

“True Blood” has upset a U.S. politician who was featured in the recent episode. Texas senator Ted Cruz who did not appear in the show but just his name and image, called the HBO series “misogynist and profanity-ridden.”

Brief recap from the last episode follows. Don’t read ahead if you haven’t watched it yet.

In the episode titled “Lost Cause,” vampires Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) attended a fundraising event for Cruz, a republican senator, to hunt for Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp).

The vampires weren’t the only ones after Sarah, though; the Yakuza were also searching for her. The Japanese crime organisation entered the event and gunned down the guests. Everyone was left for dead, except for Sarah who managed to escape because bumping into Eric.

Cruz was not pleased with the show using his image and name.

The Canadian-born Texas politician lashed out on his Facebook for “murdering” Republicans in the episode.

“Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBO’s True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night, they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a ‘Ted Cruz fundraiser,’” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“Well, I’m sorry to have lost the vampire vote, but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends...”

Not content with his rant, he added on Twitter, “Then again, I guess I never had a chance w/ the vampire vote since the dead tend to vote overwhelmingly for Dems.”

Former vice president candidate Sarah Palin took her co-Republican’s side, saying she was glad that she declined an offer to guest star on the show in the past.

“To producers who throw these deceitfully ‘flattering’ bones that sound fun on the surface, is it really any wonder I don’t accept your offers to participate in your shows? Nice try HBO. I’d put any mama grizzly in America against a vampire any day; for only one of them actually exists,” Palin, who was not named in the episode, told Breitbart.com.
“The left wants to talk about a ‘war on women’? Keep engaging in your misogynist attacks on women you disagree with and we’ll see who wins your self-inflicted war in the court of decent public opinion.”

Though it’s up for debate if the show is really misogynistic, it is undeniably profanity-ridden. Profanities are a fixture in the show. In the mentioned episode alone, Sarah’s vampire sister Amber called the fundraiser’s attendees “a—hole,” while Pam looked referred to herself as, “I am a republic-nts-.”
