'True Detective Season 2' Updates: Jessica Chastain Not Joining Season 2 of HBO's Hit Series
Representative of Jessica Chastain have refuted reports that the former will be starring in HBO's critically acclaimed series "True Detective" Season 2. Since the wrap of Season 1 which starred Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey in the memorable role of detectives, fans are excited to know as to who will take their place in upcoming season.
Jessica's name popped up when the show creator Nic Pizzolatto had hinted in his interview that Season 2 will be more female centric.
"This is really early, but I'll tell you (it's about) hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system," Pizzolatto had said in his chitchat with Hit Fix.
Though Jessica's rep have denied the reports of her starring in the series, fans and industry experts feel that she would have been a great addition to the show due to her exceptional acting talent.
The actress has got immense critical acclaim and a series of awards for her role as CIA agent in "Zero Dark Thirty" and has also being nominated for Oscar.
Even fans think that Jessica would have added a lot to the upcoming season of HBO's series.
Meanwhile, Chastain who recently appeared on Cannes red carpet for her film "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" said that though she is big fan of series she is not going to star in it.
"That news broke yesterday, and everybody went crazy on the Internet," Chastain said on the red carpet (via Variety) adding, "It's an awkward thing because when all that attention happens - it takes away from whoever plays the role. I'm a big fan of the series. I'm going to watch the second season just like I watched every episode of the first."
She even said that she was drawn to Matthew McConaughey's and Woody Harrelson's characters.
"True Detective "Season 2 is speculated to air next year.
