Seconds after Miley Cyrus’s raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2013, critics’ tongues had gone wagging and America, if not the whole world, has been critical on Liam Hemsworth’s ex. Barely two months after the event, and one month after the incident she finally broke her silence.

On Oct. 11, Miley Cyrus was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show as part of her press tour for latest album, “Bangerz,” and she opened up about her music and split from boyfriend of four years, “The Hunger Games star,” Liam Hemsworth.

Despite her efforts to avoid all questions related to her twerky romance with Liam, Miley hinted she is moving on following the high-profile break up.

She spoke of the recent events and how they affected her and her music and whether or not she is willing to fall in love again after her “last song,” with Liam.

How recent events affected her music?
Miley Cyrus: "I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."

Is she ready to start a new?
Miley Cyrus: "I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do. I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now.”

What “twerks” her to worry?
Miey Cyrus: "I've been kind of impressed with people and how much they've actually shown more respect. I don't really look up [to] anything, so maybe they haven't been showing respect, but from what I have seen, I felt like people have really focused on my music right now when I've needed them and have actually been really good about that. Because that's the only thing I worried about—I didn't want it to make me to sacrifice what I've been working for, for just the attention to be on that."

Is she ready to see somebody new?
Miley Cyrus: "You know, for me, I really haven't gotten to see anyone right now. ‘Cause I've been so crazy busy, I'm just letting that chapter kind of close and just looking forward to that new one.”

What’s her next plan?
Miley Cyrus: “"I want to be really clear and determined with everything I'm doing in my life right now, and I have been. I keep saying I'm the happiest I've ever been and that's not even a dig.”

How happy could she get?
Miley Cyrus: “I really am genuinely happy finally with myself, which I think sometimes it takes you separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are. I've never been able to just be alone, and I'm obsessed with being alone and like hearing my thoughts."
