Four days before it hits the big screen, Twi-hards have already started camping outside a cinema in Los Angeles for the premiere of the latest Twilight film.

Fans have installed tents outside the Nokia Plaza where Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be walking the red carpet for the world premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" on Friday, US time.

According to reports by website Entertainment Weekly, Twi-hards from as far as Perth joined the camp yesterday.

The temporary campground is divided into Team Edward and Team Jacob, with each faction having their own banners of allegiance, carbon cutouts and personalized blankets for protection against the cold.

A big screen showing the trailer of the movie has also been set up in the place.

"I'm 41 and I'm proud of my age," said camper and Team Rob supporter Angie, who travelled from Virginia just to catch a glimpse of Pattinson.

"He just has this affect on you."

The film is being screened as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival before its June 30 US release. It opens in Australian cinemas on July 1.

Meanwhile, the first half of the fourth installment of the vampire franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn", will be released on November 18, 2011, and the second half in 2012.
