"Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were in Korea yesterday for the promotion of their new movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" which is the third in the series. It will be released on July 8 in Korea following its June 30 US release.

"It is a story for everyone, that anyone and everyone can relate to. It has action, romance, suspense and everything. I truly believe that the story is universal," Lautner said.

The third film is expected to be as successful, or even break the records of the first two installments.

Lautner added that the pressure from the success of "Twilight" and "New Moon" raised the spirits of everyone on the set to work harder.

At a press conference held yesterday at the Shilla Hotel in central Seoul, both Lautner and Stewart shared their expectations about the movie and the things they've been taught during the shooting.

According to Korean film distribution company Pancinema, the first two Twilight movies that were released in early and late 2009 earned a combined $40 million worldwide until May. The second installment, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon", earned $7 million on its opening day alone. It now holds the record of earning the highest profit in the history of the US film industry, beating the 2008's "Dark Knight".

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will be darker and grimmer, with different vampire tribes and werewolves entering a war. Also, the love triangle of Bella (Stewart) Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Lautner) will be at its peak.

Stewart considers the scene where Bella and Jacob kiss on top of a mountain, not knowing that Edward is watching them, as the most unforgettable.

"It was such a different mind-set from the rest of the series. It was the line [Bella] finally crossed," Stewart said, describing Bella as a "control freak."

Stewart ventured into the world of acting when she was only 8. She said that the shooting of the Twilight series helped her mature as an actress.

She told Vanity Fair in 1997 that what she does is "professional lying". During the press conference in Seoul, she explained herself.

"I was probably trying to make it seem like I was humble, but that was a mistake," Stewart said.

She also said that as soon as it feels like lying, "You need to go again. You don't want to watch people lying to you. You want to watch people go through something and something for real. And that's what I want to do."

Stewart felt that her strong friendship with the actors and the rest of the crew on the set helped her understand the essence of her job.

On the other hand, Lautner discussed his fitness regimen, which he had to intensify after the first film to be able to keep up with the physical tranformations of Jacob in the second film. For theire two-day stay in Seoul, he specifically asked for a hotel with a full gym.

"It was a lot of work crammed into about a year. Right now I'm finding it is just as hard to maintain what I put on in the first place," he said as he recalled the time he spent at the gym.

He added that he would have to continue with his training until the shooting for the fourth and final installment in the series, "Breaking Dawn", is finished.

The Twilight stars made an appearance on the red carpet at a Megabox multiplex in Samseong-dong to greet local fans later in the day.
